Am I wrong, or we've never seen Duke Weaselton in this story?
Do you think it's a character that needs to be expanded?

It could be, but I don't see myself doing a Duke story. Perhaps another writer can take up that mantle.

A well planned and executed piece all around. I'm rather fond of sympathetic villains and Dawn definitely fits the bill. You took her, explored her motivations in a way that was never done in the movie...to an acceptable extent, and made her a hero to root for. Your original characters had enough depth to be able to stand alone as well as with the movie cast. The pacing of the action sequences was perfectly balanced with the dramatic and romantic elements leading to emoticoasters that frankly, I want to go on again. I know you meant Judy and Nick's relationship to be more of a backdrop or comparison to Vernon and Dawn's, but I definitely feel it made the story more complete. And Gazelle being with Finnick was an unexpected yet excellent addition. All in all I loved the story and will be waiting for whatever works you have next.

Sadly I drew them at a 300x300 pix resolution, so they really can't be blown up very large at all. I did blow my personal favorite (without the text) up at the blog by like 200 pix, but even that starts to look a little artifacty.

It takes place between chapter 27 and 28 of this story, and has Dawn and Vernon go visit the family home for a reunion, and she's the only prey there among a horde of predators. Lots of awkwardness and tension there.

It's funny. Back when "Zootopia" originally came out, while I had a thing for Bellwether and was disappointed with her reveal, I just went "eh whatever just give me sum hot domee cosplays".

But now, after discovering your art with her, and reading your story, I wanna go back in time and kick every last bit of sperm outta my nuts.

With that said, this was a great read. In fact, I'm thinking of probably doing an analysis/review of it in the future.

But just to summarize, single best incarnation of Bellwether ever done, great parallel between Nick X Judy and Dawn X Vernon, not to mention a respectful representation of N and J, no "Disney twist villain", no stereotypical "Draco In Leather Pants" Schtick, great as a sequel/spin-off, infinitely better Disney Villain arc than Disney's actual Villain arc (you know the name... Ten letters, starts with "M", ends with "T"), and great balance between Drama, Romance, Action, and Erotica...

Aww I really appreciate that. I'm also glad someone picked up on what I was going for with the Nick and Judy parallel. It's the reason Vernon was designed to be a wolf, and not any other predator. So you have the same natural enemies set-up, and both sets of characters dealing with different versions of the same feelings. And I'm glad I seemed to capture Nick and Judy fairly well, I was particularly nervous about Nick especially, and getting his character down to enough of a degree that any changes were slight and accommodated by the five-year gap and events in both his and Judy's lives.

"The Godfather of Zootopia Fanfics" is a lofty title, but I really do appreciate it. Especially since it's the first real story I've ever written. I'm currently wrapping the Psuedo-sequel where Dawn meets Vernon's folks. Hopefully, you might give it a look and find it as entertaining. I'd love to have more time to write a bunch of little one-shots and off-shoots, but I've got commissions to steal my time away, and even then the muse ain't always kind.
