While I think it's wonderful, and in fact necessary, for the country to join in unity following the election, there seems to be this prevailing assumption that The President Elect gets a 'clean slate' and we should all just forget about the past and look forward to the governance of the future. Well...
The President Elect still has multiple accusations and pending court cases over sexual assault allegations (some involving underage girls). The President Elect fraudulently and deliberately misappropriated hundreds of thousands of dollars of charity funds for his own personal gains. The President Elect ran a campaign around threatening or outright violating the rights of millions of American citizens and citizens to be. The President Elect has stated policies of revoking health insurance for millions of those most in need while providing no alternatives to crippling health care costs. The President Elect believes Climate Change is a hoax nefariously perpetrated by our greatest trade partner. The President Elect plans to repeal regulation on Wall Street, eliminate investment in clean and alternative energy, and privatize the nation's infrastructure. The President Elect is a failed businessman who has gone bankrupt multiple times and has no political experience whatsoever.
I do not hate this man, or the people that voted for him. I do not get angry over politics, because after voting as a citizen you have done all you are expected to do. But I have principles, and I do not need fury to fuel me. I am passionate, I am stubborn, and I will not accept regression or repression. I want nothing more than for the President to 'Make America Great (Again is a relative term).' This is our country and we will move forward together. But we will move forward. We will protect our values, our rights, and our Constitution. We will not wipe your slate clean. We respect America too much to just 'move on.' America is ours, and I love it. I'm proud of it, even today. Americans should only be ashamed when they allow their voices to be silenced. Today, I will speak louder than I ever have before. Regardless of where you stand, I encourage you to speak up with me. Join me. Because if you stand for what you believe, then you stand with me, even if you stand on the other side of the aisle.
This election was not about you, Mr. Trump. It was about America. It was about many of us finding the voice we thought we'd lost. And all of us, together, will make sure that you are not the one that speaks for us. We will speak, and you will listen, and you will give us what we really wanted: You will give us our country, not yours. You truly are a deplorable man, but we can work with that. We've worked with worse. But you'd better work with us. Because you stirred us to rise, and we are ready to rise against you too.

I just want to thank you for making your case without referring to a massive amount of voters as racist/sexist/islamophobic. Instead you gave us points around which a civil discussion could take place. You are one of the few people I follow on this site that didn't cry "Armageddon!" out of the gate. Thanks for that.
I am personally worried about how chummy he is with President Putin.
The EU and UK are in shambles from the Brexit, Trump wants to stop NATO which would further destabilize Europe, Russia wants to strengthen it's bond with American very suddenly thanks to the Trump Presidency...
And with all of that going on, less than a month before the election, Russian military forces were/ are being mobilized en masse.
Its like Putin and Trump are actively pouring powder into a keg @_@'

I wouldn't worry too much about any of the things he said while on the campaign. All the other candidates lie about 95% of that stuff, why shouldn't he?
Taking bets now on which 5% of the insanity he spewed while on the campaign trail actually becomes policy! 5:1 odds for '35% import tariffs!'

I have first-hand experience of how catastrophic his business techniques were up in Atlantic City AND down in South Florida. Let's just say there's a good chance he does less damage to the country as president over the next four years than he would do as CEO.
So far, I hope he runs well... cause he is now the pilot of the ship we are riding on.
As for the people screaming and rioting in the streets, and the fallout I've witness these past 5 days, I've seen blame cast on 3rd party protest votes because they were the few that had principle.
I am beyond angry, I can't be mad... All I can do is simply laugh at the hypocrisy and peak irony on both sides of it all.
Trump won the election, against a rigged system, with less votes. The people that has been slating Hillary expectantly to win the election at every turn unchallenged for the first female president. The "TOLERANT" and "PROGRESSIVE" liberals, turning into the most hateful little things I've seen in some time.
All you can just do is stand there... and laugh at all of it.
And people being serious in their fears... that just makes it even more funny to me.

So uhh... how bout this time tho? Because WOW is it so much worse already. I don't think there's any point in extending charitable thought to the man in 2025, even as a show of maturity.
I, personally, went from a class of people making progress to a class of people with zero rights and a giant target on my back overnight. :<
