I don't know if this is what you were talking about Joe, but I tried. This is about 10 minutes long, so it's the longest song I've ever done. I hope you enjoy at least some part of it.

Kind of too repetitive without a whole lot of very interesting things going on. It does get sort of trance-like after a while, so maybe that was the point. Parts of it work out nicely, but overall, it's not my thing.

Around 4:34 was where you started to get it. As far as layering sounds goes, you know how to do it, you just have to do it on purpose more often. I also like what you did at 6:58. Now then, our next lesson shall be pertaining to the following:
