It occurred to me a while back that although PCA students are going to a school which is primarily designed to train them to be ready for professional battling, there's actually very little description of what pro battling is actually like... or at least, what makes it more than just grown Pokemon beating the crap out of each other for the amusement of paying crowds. So of course, I just had to go and try to define it at least to the point where it would give our kids some idea of where they want to go when they hit the big time. :3
The real trick with this was not only giving each league a unique personality, but trying to come up with a distinct feel for each region as well. I referenced a lot from pro wrestling both past and present, which gave me a lot of ideas on how things would change in each area.
Also, keep in mind that there are countless hundreds of smaller local level leagues and the much glamorized national level leagues as well, so don't consider these as being the only options available. Nothing I do is ever the be-all end-all for what it describes, after all.

If I may just say a few words:
1. You, my good sir, are brilliant. Such wonderful ideas, each one unique at that. A spectacular way to put meat on the bones of the PCA universe.
2. Not only did you just give my characters, Kole and his father a perfect league to fight in, but you also gave Kole a new idol. I do hope you don’t mind but expect me to reference the Indigo Plateau League and this “Blue Rocket” combatant in the future.

Those are national-level leagues, thus why they're not on the list. These are leagues that generally stay within the boundaries of their home region and are a little less prestigious than their WWE-level counterparts, but are still a step up from the much smaller local level leagues.

I tried to make a wide range of situations so that it didn't seem like every region was equal, especially since smaller areas would have trouble keeping up with large regions like Kanto unless a good chunk of the local economy was being devoted to battling related stuff (like what's happening in Almia).
