It doesn't matter if you started too late, you can still finish whatever story you were doing. In fact, I know there's plenty of artists that start something and keep working on it until it's finished, which will sometimes take an entire year because their irl lives don't allow them much time to draw. But if you want to stop, then that's your decision.
