I've had thought of remaking the classic picture, "She's Safe To Be Your Pet" for some time with a better idea. I've had two images of Cheeyana posing with her locked up in chains, but I stuck with the good ol' classic style. There were a lot of Layer Masking effects used for later adjustments as I was creating the darkened room. I sampled the concrete floor from my picture, "63B" with some slight modifications. I've used some of the lighting and shading layers to give her chains some texture. When I created the purring text, I wanted to present it as a soft tone from Cheeyana. Like a seductive & luring type of pur that she is making using pink for the feint glow and inner shadow layer effect while having it masked to fade it in and out. Her feint pur gets a little loud mid-ways, but quiets as she finishes. At first, I was going to use the layer effects from "A Twisted Tale of Faith & Fate" that I have noted to myself to change certain layer blends to create the effect that I need (like this). As I was creating the pitch dark room, I realised that I really didn't need those layers to create the darkened effect on Cheeyana only. Instead, I created using a different method such as Gradient and Curve layers to create the effects. It has proven to be a helluvalot better in this situation (and previous pictures in which I've used Curves). When it came to giving the spot light texture, I wanted to make it nicely detailed from the nitty to the gritty. At least to the best of my ability and knowledge on good ol' Photoshop. The dust speckles were placed in their spots rather than carelessly poking at the tablet making spots everywhere. Some I had to fade out, some were moved so they won't look like a straight line pattern. This picture was quite a break while working on the remake of 2007's "Food Chain" comic in color. I've taken my time finishing this project rather than having it done in a day or two due to the work schedule of the mini-comic. Everytime I look at this picture now, I tend to click back and forth to see the big improvement I've gone through from 2002 to 2009. Back then, I couldn't think of a background to place Cheeyana in and I used some digital photos. The fun part about this project was coloring Cheeyana's eyes. Yeah, it was short and easy, but I really love how glowing effects can stand out in the dark like this. It was all about making Cheeyana's appearance sexy, yet... eerie or just imagine that you are REALLY in a room like this with her... by yourself. A room where you are up close and personal with this girl who is about three times your size purring at you with her innocent looks and hypnotic eyes...what would you do in that situation? Is she safe to be your pet? Reach your hand out and touch her...

Her hands look oddly reptilian or amphibian. Small fingers with lots of space between makes for the strange look to me. The sheer power and wildness is still very much there, though as glowing eyes, large muscles, and broken chain suggest. Lighting job is win on toast. Overall a cool piece.
Now let's see about petting her ^^

Thanx King! Yeah, the eyes were so much fun to work on! And the shading obviouly took up alot of time besides the bluish/gray hue. And they were a pain in the ass to work on cuz sometimes the shading was turning out too dark. Or the grey was interfering with the darkness. So it was a big adjusting game trying to balance out everything. And then came the good ol' "DAMN! I missed a spot!" look as I was checkin the pic out. ^^ But I'm happy ppl like it tho! I plan on making a remix version later on with the chains busted, Heheheheheheh...
XD Thanx alot, Orca! LoL I got it as my desktop already! I made the actual pixel size fit perfetly on all 3 perspectives of the desktop; Centered, Stretched, and tiled. So you get a bodyshot of her on tiled, a close up of her on the right screen centered, or a non-distorted whole view stretched. But that's for the 1440x900 res screens.
