heh the ibook g3, i got one used off some guy, he for some messed up reason he put insulation on the gpu chip and it ended up over heating and not functioning,.
but i opened it up and it must have been fun painting it, i would have considered it if the laptop still worked... anyways im probably gona sell it for parts.

I have repaired this twice.
first time the memory/gold capasitor had leaked asid onto the board, etching off two paths, causing the laptop not to respond to the power button.
I repaired it with thin wirewrap wires, and a new gold capasitor.
after a half a year it failed on the the videochip, as many G3s do. once again split the entire thing to peices, and reheated the BGA videochip with new flux, had to do it twice for it to work.. and also get a new HDD fro some reson.. but now its got 80GB insted of 20GB so thats not too bad.. still needs a RAM upgrade though.. only got 256MB now.
