Now, I’ve had the basic idea for this for quite some time. But there are so many topics to bring up, that many things had to be left out. Because of that, there’s a lot here that’s on the cutting room floor, which is why I’ll be adding a few extra bits here in the description.
The comic version you see is a collaborative effort between ThornWolf33 of DA and myself.
Will people get offended by this? Most assuredly. But I’m not going to change what I say because of that. If I did, I’d be falling for the same traps that are attempting to phase out freedom of speech.
Immigration is a fairly big topic this election, but people always forget one thing. The issue is about illegal immigrants, the key word being “illegal.” Why are their children given citizenship if the parents aren’t legal citizens? You might say that it comes from the 14th amendment in the Constitution. Which is somewhat true, but it wasn’t intended to be used this way. The original purpose of the amendment was to give the newly freed black slaves, who were born in the United States, citizenship in the 19th century. Not to give the children of illegals citizenship.
We only mentioned healthcare here, but the topic is massive. So I’ll tell you a couple quick things. Healthcare hasn’t been a free market system since about the 1940s, back when doctors used to do house calls. So when proponents of Obamacare say that the “free market system doesn’t work,” what they’re actually saying is that a system modified by the government doesn’t work. These same supporters also claim that it’s not fair to deny coverage to people who are sick. That is the same as taking out a home insurance policy…while your house is on fire. Not very logical, is it? And another fun bit about Obamacare. Did you know that 70% of Americans opposed it, yet it was shoved through Congress anyway? This Thomas Jefferson quote comes to mind, “To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical." Now the federal government essentially controls and regulates one sixth of the economy.
