I've had two 740 Wagons, an 88 and an 89... Someone messed with the 89 and cracked the block (sugar in oil), and the 88 was just trash when I got it, and got worse every time I drove it until it lost it's rings... Their electrical systems are also huge issues, but if they're kept decently, they are pretty solid, good cars.
The Sunbeams I haven't seen too much of, but I've heard of them in passing. Maybe I've seen pictures someplace, who knows. :P

I'll stick to my AMC. I've had less issues working on them over any other car, even my 93 EG8 Sedan.
The Concord also has a sort of rugged civilian appeal, which is something a lot of Muscle cars lack. I want to be able to drive my car off-road if I have to one day, so knowing my suspension sits a tad higher than most cars could come in handy. :P

I know that Wiki sites are generally not supposed to be used for general information, but...

I looked over it, and I didn't think they ever had sixes in them... Nor were they designed until 1999, so Japan would have had no part in ruining it to begin with. That doesn't mean people haven't put sixes in them... :P

A lot of the manufacturers tried to make the models much more than they were originally intended to be... The Skyline, for example, back in 50's and 60's when it was first produced, was meant to be a luxury sedan with a good economic footprint. Into the late 60's and 70's, they began to gear it more for road race quality, and reduced the doors to two, making the first GTR.
If you really want something with an Inline 6, get a Cressida or early 80's Supra. The only other alternatives (as in not import) are Mavericks, Hornet's, and Dart's, and the like smaller sedan/coupe domestics from the 60's to the 80's. Anything else is just a waste.

I love that car but i will state a fact. GT-R really stands for Get Transmission Repaired :3 also Triva quiz. how much does an oil change by Nissan cost and mind you to keep your warranty you are required to have your oil changed by Nissan. first one to get it right gets a cookie! bonus points if you can tell me the increment they measure the amount of oil in and how much it takes.
I know all about launch control, and wrong... standard matincence if you need to change all fluids is around $2000 but for an oil change alone it's $220. my brother in laws aunt works at a huge Nissan dealership in Long Island and she told me that they have more people that come in and need a new engine because they brought there GT-R to something like jiffy lube and the oil caused the car to throw a rod. she told me that by far though that transmissions are the most common repair, because Nissan does not rebuild these transmissions it cost's over $20,000 (no thats not a typo) to replace a transmission.the GT-R's fancy launch control is nothing more than the transmission putting the car in drive and reverse at the same time, all this is, is an over glorified tranny brake. sorry about the rant I'm just quite a gear head :3

Saw a couple today, it's a shame everybody has one now. Not to sound like Richard Hammond here, but I would feel too distant driving that thing, like I'd have to have my head out the window at all times to make sure I'm actually driving around.
Besides all that though, sweet car. :P
