His owner has stressed us all with his pagan/celtic-inspired face pattern a lot, so the original idea was to translate that in some sort of decoration, more than picking realistic markings for a turian.
He grew up in an environment outside turians' standards and doesn't belong physically and culturally to any turian colony, yet he is in need of embracing his species' culture somehow, consequently he went for the same choice of my character. Placing some markings was for him a sort of defensive and farsighted kind of choice, since turians don't really consider pretty much their barefaced fellows...
I would talk hours about it, you know. hah <3
