When waking in dreams, Masika found herself in a very strange place. This was not the same black void she had come to know...nor the embrace of the Mother Goddess as she had hoped it would be. By now she had begun to pray every single night that sleep might lead her by her faith to her true calling...but evermore were those prayers going unanswered, and on this night, Masika found herself in an endless space, white, and filled with a bright fog the color of sunset...
...Masika was frightened and now she was waiting for it: the soothing voices. she was waiting to hear that man again, the man that would bind her in chains and drag her away like he had done countless nightmares before. Yet, it would seem that he was nowhere to be found here. All that came from this place was an eerie silence. Even her footsteps made not a patter, and when she went to call out, Masika quickly realized that she had no voice within her throat. She stood there for just a moment, wondering where she might go and what she might do in this place, then her legs started moving all on their own. Every part of Masika's body tried to tense, tried to stop, but she quickly realized that she was no longer in control, and some entity kept driving her forward and through the mist.
It led her onwards, forward...sometimes making a turn. At first it seemed strange. Everything in this place seemed to stretch endlessly in the distance, everything looked the same...so, what was the point? How did it matter if and where she turned? How long had she be walking? In this place there was no real sense of time...but then, something appeared in the distance and Masika was approaching it. She was surprised when after all that time, Masika had come to a bench among the orange fog. With her legs still being controlled, Masika went around to the front of the bench, and then finally she sat down.
She sat for a long time...at first in silence and then, her mind began to wander (as it often did). Images started dancing in her head, slowly taking form as she stared forward into the endless space she had found herself in. What thoughts seemed harmless and almost bored quickly started turning dark in this place:
The thoughts were like a disease, and the hatred and sadness seemed to slowly course through her body as blood that coursed through her veins. Masika found that she could move her legs again...she could have left, but, she didn't. Her face stayed still, she made no show of emotion...but, she could feel them, tears. She felt betrayed...she felt hurt for all the Leothaun that had been shunned for things not of their control. How only she wished could end the maltreatment of these beings, to bring them home.
She wanted to save them!!!
There it was..there was the voice. He was here. He was back again.
And before Masika could react, there was that familiar set of hands that were not her own. It stroked her cheek, wiping the tears away. But, when she looked down, it was not the glistening of tears that she saw. No...this substance was thicker, black like tar.

'How does on explain their feet moving on their own, walking towards a path that screams danger; and even though every part of you wants to run - instead, you skip into the darkness and welcome it like something familiar?'...Masika was frightened and now she was waiting for it: the soothing voices. she was waiting to hear that man again, the man that would bind her in chains and drag her away like he had done countless nightmares before. 'This color...it's beautiful. But, it doesn't explain why I have been brought to this place?'
'Do I prefer the void? Am I so accustomed to nightmares that I'm more scared of things pleasant and unfamiliar?'
'Those Leothaun I read about...they were tortured by an evil man, then tossed away by the people that should have helped them.'
'They just wanted their lives back...and they were treated like monsters.'
'My parents...they loved each other...but I was not allowed. I am something forbidden.'
'They left me there!!! They left me to die!'
'Why keep me in the Temple when the Gods ignore me?!'
'Why me? Why am I forsaken?!'
'I never asked to be made!! I never asked to be here!!!'The thoughts were like a disease, and the hatred and sadness seemed to slowly course through her body as blood that coursed through her veins. "Don't cry my child. No more tears. Just let me in. I can take your pain away."
