Well, it's that time again. The time when creepy and horrid things are suppose to occur. Well, mostly of the entertaining variety I suppose. It's been a rather busy, tiring, and bothering month all together, so guess my Halloween spirit is sort of sullied.
Oh well, maybe next year. I'll console myself by watching some stuff from my favorite LPers and watch Gavin and Micheal freak out in Outlast (first time I'll be seeing how Whistleblower turned out. I've seen screenshots, they are going to freak for sure).
But, at least the spirit survives in some fashion or another. Randall and Doru had gone into the holo simulation for the day, which made me do a double-take when I first saw it.
So anyway, on to what happened. Given it is Halloween, I imagined our resident scare expert would be thinking up something to do. Surprise surprise, the kid beat him to the punch. Lately, Doru's been getting into 2-D horror games (albiet monitored, I think by Randall himself actually). I think they're ones of the indie variety, but I can't quote them for a reason I'll get back to.
Anyway, his deal was was that he wanted to work up one himself using a holo program, to try and be a "monster" himself and try to scare Randall, who was essentially like the PC. I'm actually more surprised he agreed. So he set up this creepy house filled with weird stuff from a lot of horror games he's either played or heard about. Gotta hand it to the actual monster, Randall went through it all pretty well.
Then he got to the basement where Doru had been hiding for awhile for the classic jumpscare. I wasn't expecting much when I heard about it. From what Randall says, the kid did a decent enough job, though he wasn't really scared at all, which he surprisingly didn't admit. But looking over the footage, I think he was being a bit charitable in letting the kid think he did much better than he actually did.
Kinda a bit sweet that he wasn't belittling or anything like that. Guess he's starting to get a soft spot for the kid after all...the two have been going through sims the whole day together, with understandable breaks, and think they're actually having two-fold-fun being around each other. Think I heard him actually laugh once or twice.
Anyway, as said, Doru loaded up the sim with a lot of horror-esque material from various games. Some are famous, some are long standing, some are indies. I think as far as the basement here goes, there's about 13 or so references in there. Can you guess all 13? Granted, some are probably difficult for one reason or another, but hey, have some fun and try to be a horror expert heheheh.
So anyways, Happy Halloween people.
