Pixy paused and picked up a discarded Magic Eight Ball from the counter and gave it a little shake, “Oh wise and powerful Magic Eight Ball, will Tussle ever grow those boobs she’s been waiting forever on?”
Tussle rolled her eyes as Pixy turned the ball over and giggled at the answer, “Tell me again why we’re best friends?”
“Because I picked you, and I always get what I want!” Pixy smiled, handing the ball over.
Rolling the ball in her hand she flexed her leg, feeling the scratch marks along it. It’d been months since she’d be chased through the sewers, but being attacked by a massive monster isn’t something you let go of so easily.
“I’m not going to have any more monster trouble am I?” she asked, then turned it over to look down at its window.
CATCH ME
Tussle cocked her head curiously at the strange answer while beneath her the ground started to rumble a bit. Living near a fault line since she was three she’d grown used to these little tremors, and thought nothing of it, but a stronger jolt caught her off guard, knocking the ball from her hand.
Hitting the ground it started rolling towards the doors as other moved into the frame in fear. Tussle watched it head towards the exit and gave chase.
A harder tremor rattled the store as Tussle started to run into the parking lot as the ball was bounced around by the shaking earth.
The world rattled around Tussle as her focus remained on the ball lunging forward to catch it. She felt the smooth plastic fell into her hands and she let out a sigh of relief.
Catching up Pixy strolled out of the store as the startled people muttered amongst each other. While beneath the store a gas line snapped. Its contents started flowing out without restraint.
“You okay Tessa Lee?”
Tussle nodded as she picked herself up and dusted herself off with one hand with the ball in the other. Car alarms ringing all around them, “Yeah, I’m okay, you okay?”
Pixy nodded as Tussle looked to the ball, wondering if it was okay too. Her eyes moved to the window just as a piece of shelving feel from the gondola landing with a single spark upon the floor.
DUCK
Grabbing Pixy Tussle dropped the ball as she pressed themselves to the concrete as an explosion filled the sky! A wave of heat spilling over them as debris pattered all around the pair. Louder screams filling the air as people at the store’s door were not so lucky.
Clinging tightly Pixy held onto her friend as Tussle saw the ball had broken. Reaching into the shell she picked out the little white die as the fluid pooled below it.
Looking it over she only saw answers like ‘Yes, No, Maybe, Answer unclear, Ask again Later…’

Nifty... I like these stories!
This one in particular well-armed hyena babe you drew up sometime back:

No chance of a connection?

I'm a little sad that it got broken in the end, because I love quirky magical stuff like this. Hang around something like her little eight ball long enough, and it becomes a strange cross between a talisman and a odd little friend. It's the kind of thing that could never happen RL, but in a world where there are all kinds of magic, occasionally, something really unique and special happens.
