"This picture is rather - I always have mixed feelings with this picture. Of course, it's very impressive, it was very impressive to be there. We were getting close to this herd of Ponyta and Rapidash. You'd expect them to be shy, but they weren't at all. I think they know they can outrun the jeep anyway. So we could get pretty close, looking at the cute Ponyta, and then all of a sudden, these two Rapidash start fighting. The guide told us that this happens at the start of the mating season, when the dominant mare and stallion are challenged by others. So it was really impressive to see that fight, that raw power, and the flames rising up and everything. But on the other hand... We always thought - or, well, I always thought, that pokémon only fought till submission. And I guess that's technically true, but the guide said that, as you can see here, the Rapidash do get wounded in the fight. And the victor will be okay, but the loser gets exiled from the herd. So, a lone, wounded Rapidash won't live very long. It was kinda sad to realise that one of them was going to die soon. That it was, in fact, killed by it's rival, even if it wasn't actually trampled or anything. But yeah, a really special photograph. This is about the closest we've been to wild pokémon on that safari."
