I used to have a few hermit crabs. They are interesting pets. But you are right, sometimes they do not last very long at all. Did yours ever switch shells? Mine had other shells available, but they never switched. I am just wondering if they do it often or not.

they did switch shells a few times, I'd rotate the selection now and then, they're check them out now and then I did actually did get to see it a few times... and my god their butts are ugly. I don't know how many times they actually changed. a lot of times they just try it on and go back to the old shell, mostly when no one's watching .

Okay, I've never had that happen before. I've only had at most two at one time, but several sets of two over the years. By having more than two at one time, that probably increases the chances of them switching shells, I would think. Maybe that's why they never switched. I haven't had any for a few years now, though, so that's about all I have to say about hermit crabs - interesting and exotic pets. X3

I had lots of shells with them. and they're very picky about their clothes.
