The grip is based on a few bog finds that I had pics of before a hard drive crash.....
Spear pointed, single edged blades were more typically Norse.
Anglo Saxon seaxes were usually of the "broken back" type.
Simple, elegant and sharp as hell.
I might have to make myself one of these.

Actually, that tapered grip works better than you'd think to prevent that from happening.
I've done some serious thrust testing of seaxes with tapered grips, and they actually do stay in the hand really well.
You do have to hold it firmly though...Which you would in a serious fight anyway.
