Rita DeCorvo's mother is a P.C.A. alumni and professional league battler of some repute. Her honchkrow father (from whom she gets the pattern on her wings) is a professional stuntmon working in the movies. Rita's aspirations, it would seem, lie somewhere between the two. As a young zubat she climbed on top of her roof to try flying with a sheet. Never mind she could just use her wings, she wanted to see if it would work (it didn't). Similar acts of reckless daredevil-ism would follow, her parents scolding her on one hand yet silently encouraging her to keep it up on the other, just to be more careful about it.
She competed in the junior battle leagues with a somewhat reckless style. Sometimes it would work, sometimes she would fall flat on her face. But she always put on a good show and had fun doing it. Her high-risk style of battling would extend into recreational activities as well, Rita growing into a bit of a thrill addict. When she evolved into a golbat her eyes failed to develop properly from her zubat form and didn't work, a condition which remained into her crobat form, keeping her blind still. Not that she ever really noticed, she spent her zubat years without eyes to begin with, so didn't really have anything to miss.
Entering the P.C.A. last year she immediately set about fighting with her typical high-risk, reckless style. Although she's had more success than not, her parents are hoping that she'll learn a little self-control, not just in the arena but out. So far it's a lesson she doesn't seem too concerned with learning. Thus far she's declined to join any teams. Though she's open to the idea, none of the ones who have tried to recruit her have interested or impressed her enough, and truthfully, her ability to actually work on a team is a bit questionable.
Rita is an outgoing and energetic person, almost to a fault. She gets bored easily and doesn't have the world's greatest attention span but at least knows how to have a good time. She's the type who'll do just about anything if you dare her to, and makes bets on nearly all of her matches. She fights with a frenzied, kamikaze style, though dangerously enough, a well thought-out kamikaze style that she has a lot of experience with.

Thanks, the basic blue was just too bland, wanted to liven them up a bit and taking the honchkrow wing pattern just looked cool. The rings (as well as the ones at the end of her braids) actually have a functional use, she can use the sound of the jingling as she walks or flies to aid in her echolocation, based it off real-world instances of people doing the same thing with pocket change.
