While catching up on her sorely neglected moveset, Vanessa heard about how Hidden Power would often reflect one's inner self... .. sort of like those internet quizzes, only with a useful purpose. Of course she simply couldn't pass up the opportunity to discover exactly what her Hidden Power was, and was rather delighted to find that not only was it what she expected it to be, but also that it was rather easy to make that power manifest itself into a certain form when she used it in battle, which made it just that much more impressive.
Out of all the moves she's been catching up on, Hidden Power is the one she's put the most effort into mastering. Her opponents? They're starting to wish that power had stayed hidden.
(Still working on drawing larger body styles correctly... sorta getting there, but I need to try to make her look shorter and bigger next time. And if you're wondering, she usually has her tail cinched around her waist like a Purugly typically does, but during a match it's not wise to restrict oneself like that.)

Not really, it's just an illusion for dramatic effect. After all, if she's going to be able to use a power with the striking force of an angry Salamence, then she figures that looking the part of an angry Salamence too and scaring the crap out of her opponent can only make it that much better!
