"Here's Johnny!!"So I finally finished my Dreamkeepers Webcomic Halloween fanart piece.
I've been having so much fun illustrating some posters recently in my Weaving Through Design History series, I wanted to do my Halloween fanart as a poster. After awhile I had the idea to take some DK characters and place them in a classic horror poster. Initially I was going to use Namah in place of Jack Nicholson, and Lilith in Shelly Duvall's spot. It was amusing, but I wanted to dig deeper. I told myself, "Alright, this is Halloween. Think darker, much, much darker..."
Sadly, I think this nailed it. Also changing the title from "The Shining" to "The Sandman" (Chapter 2 in Dreamkeepers) made perfect sense.
I think a part of my soul died while drawing this......
