Getting into the fortress was the easy part... but turns out there were a lot more guards inside the Forerunner temple than on the outside. And they took offense to the enterprising Kig-Yar duo trying to steal their revered 'Oracle'.

Once plasma weapons and needlers started to fire, the escape plan boiled down to Vonna's declaration "We'll wing it." never one to miss an opportunity for a bird-pun.

This was a commission done by the exceptionally talented  FrostBiteDragon that  LykenZealot and I went half-and-half on. I was beyond impressed with how well Frost was able to draw a stylish yet 'realistic' looking Kig-Yar and knew that Vonna'd be in need of simmilar treatment.

So when Lyken suggested going half-and-half, I couldn't help but think "Well, they're breaking into a fortress, but what happens when you need to get OUT?" And well, Vonna doesn't have much finesse for doing things subtle, so "haul ass" would be the default escape plan.

The idea in my head was something similar to the opening chase scene of Guardians of the Galaxy. Same basic concept. Break into a 'sacred temple', snatch the shiny orb relic to sell for a hell of a payday, then run like hell when the crazy laser-gun wielding religious nuts don't like what you're up to.



And I think Frost did a hell of a job portraying that concept, so I couldn't be happier with the outcome.
