The quirky sound of a ding filled the empty room as Glitch stepped out of an elevator. He yawned as he looked at the busy doorman. He took out his room keys as he asked, “Hey, don’t you have a copy of this? Room 509”. The doorman looked to the key rack at the wall behind him before replying with a shake and a shrug, “Sorry, bud. I can get ye a new duplicate if ye want. Free o’ charge!”, Glitch raised his hand in denial as he put it in his jacket’s inner pocket, “Nevermind. You guys don’t have a curfew around here, do you? I’ll be out for a while” “Sure thing, but do be careful now. We don’t want our customers out too late for safety reasons, especially with what’s been going around the news lately”
“Name’s Glitch, by the way. I’ll be staying in for quite some time” Glitch added as he introduced himself, walking to the frontdoor before exiting. “Pleasure t’meet ya there. I’m Trevor”, Trevor replied. The door closed and Trevor went on to his book, busy once more.
The cat took a big whiff of the local smell. Not too hot, not too cold. The sun slowly dipping out in the horizon as far as the eye could see. The city lights started shimmering from the far view. Stretching as he took his first steps to the sidewalk, his phone began ringing. He took a look at the caller info before answering, “Hey”, he said, but the caller blatantly and quickly cuts him off, “Hey? ‘Hey’ ?! You’ve been out for 12 hours in your first field work. I hadn’t been able to get your location nor any of your readings. What happened? According to the system, last data showed that you were with a Siamese girl then everything went black.. “ Agent Chuck explains with worry. “We can get fired for this kind of crap, you know”. “It’s fine, chill out. I was escorted and retrieved by another agent. Her partner had… her strange way. Anyhow, she explained to me already that she’s in low profile. I take it that the professor has already explained something by now?” Glitch said. “Yes, but we had only taken our chances for that. We rely on solid data here, you know. It’s no easy work. Anyways, do you have what you need? When do you plan on starting? I can fill you in with more in depth details if you wish. I doubt what the central gave you is enough” “Yeah, actually. We’ll be starting as soon as I get a lead. I was thinking of checking the local events first. Perhaps she may be involved in one of them. It won’t be hard for her to peek her head every once in a while. She’s defective, as far as I can tell” “Now don’t call her that, she’s like a sister to you!” Glitch scoffed as Chuck joked on the other side of the phonecall. “We can follow some of the recent and upcoming events. You choose; there’s the hostage taking of a bank, a gunfight between gangs even though that’s kind of outside the city already, there’s also the assassination of a leader in a small, recent peace rally there” “Besides the last one, I doubt she’s stupid enough to go out all-in for those.. “ A twinkling cone of light shone in the distance with a red signage. Glitch looked over, waving his hand, gesturing. A cab slowed down towards him as he told Chuck, “Hold on a sec. I’ll be back” He put down his phone as the mobile took a stop beside him, the driver opened up, “Where to, sir?” “Times Square, take me around”, Glitch asked the driver.
“I just remembered as well, wasn’t there a jail outbreak not too long ago?” Glitch asked on his phone as he adjusted his seat to his comfort. “Yeah, pretty bad scenery for my taste. There were a lot of guards injured, and some prisoners had to be put down for the sake of security. Some are still loose, running around the city. Heck, I bet some of them are already aren’t even in the city anymore. Why?” “Well, it’s a good lead, in my opinion. Big enough to cover someone’s plot, big enough to be a decoy for another event, big enough to hide whoever was in charge; whether it was an inside job or not. Someone had the power and guts to do it” Glitch assumed as he watched the city lights become clearer and nearer, the streetlights illuminating the interior of the cab he was in. “You need some serious firepower and manpower to do all that.. It’s not something just a few robbers and thugs can do”, he added. Chuck replied, “Not bad. Not bad at all.. Along with that, there were underground transactions for a rare drug. Like, this isn’t your average crack. Large amounts of both money and substance has been in and out of the state” “What’s this all about?” “We have reports of a flowing drug auction and marketing underground. It’s this pesticide that can also act like ecstasy. Really fucking strange.. People thought this was long gone before the 80’s already and they just switched to weed. Apparently not, people are buying this for a lot of reasons; hallucinogens, additives, alternatives, who knows what. It’s highly cancerous too. Now, we’re not sure if these two events are related, but there was definitely a big spike in the market a few days after the jail outbreak. The underground dealing has been going on for a year and a half now with very few leads”. The cab driver cuts in quietly and shyly as Glitch was on his phone, “…sir?” “Hang on, Chuck.. Did you say something?”, Glitch clarified. “We’re here. Where’s your drop?”
At the corner of Glitch’s sight, was the same rat-like figure. Up close, his fur was shedding. Skin showed that he had some type of disease, neon-like green defined his appearance. He was playing with a baseball cap. Glitch, squinted his eyes questioningly. “Yeah.. Uh, just around the corner here please and thanks” He ended as the driver nodded his head and drover carefully. “Chuck, I’ll have to call you back” “Glitch? Wait, man, there’s something you need to kn—“. Glitch put his phone in his pocket and gave his fare to the driver without even looking at his bill, “Woah, hey man—You gave too much—“ The door slammed as the agent got out of the cab, steady on his pace as he followed the suspicious rat. Block after block, the rat walked without a care, hitting on women on his way. Glitch put on his hoodie and continued stalking. After a while, the rat took a sharp turn to an alleyway. Glitch quickened his steps and to his surprise, was this dark, skinny alley that looked abandoned. An eerie, creaky gate swung open without the rat’s trace. Glitch’s phone rang once more. It rang for a short while before he hesitantly picked it up, fixing his clothing before heading to a café on the opposite side of the street. “Hey—Be careful.. I know what you’re thinking. I got a visual on that rat too. That’s Liam Romero.. He’s an escaped convict too from the jail break. You may be right. He’s charged for the local drug deals there and a genocide once. His little gang was taken out, and he was captured ever since. He’s a feisty and dangerous little fellow who shouldn’t be underestimated.. “
Just behind the creaky gate, waited a butterfly knife, yearning for flesh and blood. Liam stuck quietly against the wall, he smiled and chuckled under his breath before heading inside the seemingly abandoned building. Echoes of yelling, moaning and beats of bass surrounded the atmosphere as he went on lower to the basement. There, hid a heavy steel door. As he knocked on a door, a surveillance camera zoomed in on him, he gave a crooked smile before the door opened. The resonance of hydraulics opening the heavy ingress automatically gave a deep hiss. Greeted him was this big, fat stature. Huffing and puffing smoke, he toyed with his fingers full of gold rings. He had a shotgun shell on his necklace, and as the silhouette faded into a solid color. A boar smiled and postured gently on his table. A raspy, deep voice greeted Liam, “Welcome, Mr.Romero.. “

Sorry for the delay, you beautiful people. I haven't been feeling well, and I had to reformat my computer. I didn't realize until I remembered that, from all the things that were so important, I forgot to backup the story. So I had to start from scratch and what I could remember. Even the storyboard was deleted!!
But fortunately, I had a dream the night after and I remembered majority of the story.
All that aside, thanks for the wait and here it is!
