I got a request from tugscarebear for one of tugs getting spanked for coloring on the wall by grams. normally I don't think care bears would resort to spankings but sometimes I guess all little cubs need some tough caring.

I guess when reason, stories, and time outs don't work, Grams would have no other choice. *sigh*
Honestly, spanking isn't as evil as people try to make it out to be. Though, it should ONLY be used as a LAST RESORT. And, like they suggest, do it without changing your inflection. It's kind of like how kids will stick their hands on warm objects, or hit their heads off things, or what-not. Sometimes a "Negative Reinforcement" is what it takes to get through to them.
*sigh* It's so hard to know what's right and what's wrong. All you can do is your best and hope it works out.

I do agree that there is a time and place for spankings. There is a big difference between spankings and beating too. Most people just don't understand that aspect of the whole situation. But for some kids spankings don't work anyway. My brother was a prime example of this. They even took it to the point where it could have been considered abuse*shrugs* He was a pretty big troublemaker for a long time though.
As for this pic, we all know how much trouble this little guy gets into so I guess its no surprise that grams has to resort to the spankings^^

Yeah I definatly think spankings can be better than they say,
While beating is definatly not a good thing I think it could be better that a child endure phycical pain that also seals in the instinctual parts of the brain like when you ask a child who broke the vase rather than just telling them. Also there is the old "the will is strong but the body is weak"
If you harm the body the will can still remain intact but if you kill the will the body is useless anyways
For that reason I beleive time outs if done truely incorrectly can be a far more damaging punishment than phsical pain
