Based on an extreme case of frostbite and hypothermia
This is a rare one of my species where the face is not only fully reveled, but the interior and their runic bones which are inscribed with their soul is exposed as well!
This one is also corrupt - having been quite an evil soul or entity that entered the area they perished in, and took on a gruesome form.

If their heart is taken, it turns into a beautiful crystal that shines forever. (this goes for any of my species)

more about the species:

These guys represent different things that reside in forests, each having a quirk to them that makes them act how they do.
Some are more simple and represent actual things, instead of the feelings of the forest, or the things that once resided in them.
Others are invaded emotions or physical attributes of those who invaded the forest.

Like with Valorien,( my oc ) his was War. (He is the embodiment of the forest's memories of War and what it's seen of bloodshed.)

They live in the forests, guarding to destroying them, most get into huge fights and attack each other if they are opposing.

They never remove their masks, but they are known to be formed/created/reborn without masks on - but it is very rare and those tend to be evil.
