Vivy: That was sure one embarrassing night. I'm just glad I can wear a normal shirt and can finally take off this stuffy choker. I just wish I could forget this night ever happened.
Crystal: Sounds like you need the weight of the world taken off your shoulders.
Vivy: Yeah something like tha-wait no! Don't you dare *click*
Crystal: Yoink!
Vivy: C-Crystal common! That's not funny, give me back to myself right now!

Well let's see, the story starts normal enough with Vivy and Crystal being roommates in college (Yap their world is the same as ours pretty much except for there being anthros).
One weekend Vivy spotted a creepy looking pawn shop and went in to look around when she found a dusty shelf with a "Do not touch" sign on it. Of course she looks inside anyhow and finds a box with a paper on it with a description. As she picks it up to take a closer look, a cloaked figure comes out of the back and starts shouting stuff like "what are you doing!" and "I hate hedgehogs!" etc.
At this point Vivy just runs out of the shop and heads all the way back to her dorm room (It's one of those big ones where they have separate bedrooms and a big central living area to share). As she gets there, she realizes that she accidentally brought the box with her. Upon reading the paper on the box, it talks about a prototype product that still hasn't been tested but that can grant the user immortality, the ability to not need to eat or sleep and other big promises.
Obviously Vivy is skeptical about the whole thing but opens the box anyway and unwraps a silver metal choker with the word "Roboticizer" on it. Thinking it was just an ordinary choker she puts in on to check out in the mirror but it starts to beep and before she could take it off she starts getting a weird electrical buzzing feeling. However, as soon as it starts, the collar starts to sizzle, heat up and fall on its own from her neck. For a while she feels dazed and touches her neck to find it feeling incredibly dried up and having weird groves moving in a circle around her entire neck. She figures that the choker heating up just dried out her fur and skin and decides to stuff the choker back into the box and tries to forget about it.
Not long after Crystal comes home and sees Vivy, with the first question being what's up with her neck. Vivy explains the whole thing while they sit on the couch and asks if its really that noticeable and Crystal says it looks almost metallic and starts feeling along Vivy's neck. Unfortunately, she feels a little too hard on a part of the neck and all of a sudden there is a click and whooshing sound and Vivy's head tumbles off her body and onto her lap.
At first they're both just staring and wondering if what just happened, happened when Crystal squeals and picks up Vivy's head and starts turning it around asking how she did that and if she could use the roboticizer too. Vivy is too shocked by this turn of events and asks stuff like "...Is this really the stuff you should be thinking about at the moment, my head is kind of detached from my body!" At which point her body stands up and looks angry as if her head were still attached.
"Wow you can even control your body while detached too! That's so awesome." Crystal says as she hands Vivy her head and goes to get the roboticizer. Vivy tries to stop her while figuring out how to walk with her head under her arm but is too late as Crystal pulls out the roboticizer and puts it on her neck...to find nothing happening. "Awe did you break it or something?" Crystal pouts.
"It better not be, I need to fix this mess!" Vivy says while grabbing the choker with her free arm and adding "And I really don't think you're setting the right mood to what's going on at the moment..." Crystal gets a curious look and grabs Vivy's head from her body and places it on Vivy's neck. "H-hey what are you doing, don't just grab me like that!" Vivy yelps.
"Relaaaax Vee-Vee, I'm just trying something." Crystal says as she connects Vivy's head back to her neck, perfectly aligned. There is another click and whoosh noise and Crystal removes her hands from Vivy's head and sees as it stays perfectly in place, re-attached to the body. "See, it's detachable and attachable, where was the shop you found that thing anyhow?"
Vivy still seems shocked and a little irritable from Crystal's way of handling this situation but agrees to show Crystal where the shop was. She puts on one of her red chokers and they both head back to the pawn shop. However, as they get there they find the shop with a closed sign up and most of the merchandise gone. "Oh come on, how could the shop disappear in just half a day...how do I fix this now?!" Vivy wonders out loud. "Don't worry, we'll find a way somehow, but till then let's just live our regular lives and have some "special" fun :3" Crystal says as they walk back to the college, Crystal with a mischievous grin and Vivy with a concerned look...but from a different concern from before...

Most of the time Vivy would like to forget about her "condition" but that doesn't stop Crystal from having her fun. You'd be surprised how often Vivy wakes up to find her body still in her bed but her head being cuddled like a teddy bear in Crystal's bed by a sleeping Crystal XD
Crystal just likes to be mischievous and play around with Vivy while they're at their dorm space. Personally I think she feeds off of the annoyance Vivy gives off during these stunts, especially since she thinks Vivy is too uptight most of the time. She won't do anything concerning Vivy's neck while they're outside, but when they're alone, the gloves come off.
