This is the very first time I've attempted to combine my cartoon art with a photographic backdrop (using my computer's Paint.Net program).
In this case, I took a picture of this sign at the corner of Margate Boulevard and State Road 7 in Margate, Florida - a city that turned 50 years old in 2007 - and superimposed a full color drawing of my bobcat 'fursona' (complete with speech balloon).
In the fifteen-plus years my RL self has been living in this Broward County community, I've only been able to land a government job here once - as a permit clerk, for less than six months. Since then, every time I'd tried to apply for a new gig, I would pass the written (spelling, alphabetizing, and math) test, but could never get past the interview (which seems more like an inquisition) in order to get hired.
This image is simply my way of 'thumbing my nose' at Margate, and I will continue to do so, until somebody (with, at least, half-a-heart) is willing to offer me a decent job for the city treats me like dirt!

I still recall visiting Atlantic City back in the early 1970s, before its boardwalk, the amusement park, and other venues when torn down to make way for all those casinos. Sadly, portions of south Florida are beginning to suffer a similar fate with 'racinos' (race tracks with attached gambling casinos). Trust me, 3M, I'll take nice over vice, any day!
