This is a commissioned character piece created by  damiem .

This variant of Nyst is much more properly eastern dragon (with a dash of "anthro" physicality put in with the "feral" or "quadruped" body), and something I feel I should have asked an artist to do a long time ago. On an earlier piece by Damien I had mentioned a "quintessential look" for Nyst, but actually I think it is really this version, and that this opinion of mine will stick. (I still like that earlier piece a lot, of course.)

I absolutely love what the artist Damien has done here, it's so spot on for me in so many ways that I am really joyful with the final result. (Plus, as always, he is so great to work with with the personal suggestions he gives and his courtesy.)

Nyst's appearance is also getting some changes thanks to Damien, such as a more flourishing mane, a differently shaped forehead gem, and new horns.

As a magical eastern dragon, Nyst can float/fly with his personal telekine ability. This ability is done instinctively, sort of like someone who has experience riding a bicycle. When he floats/flies he has essentially freed himself from gravity, giving him a drifting effect with his body and hair as well as an uncanny similarity to a creature who is swimming underwater.

I'm certain someone would ask why a floating/flying creature would be muscular, as such a flying ability requires little physical exertion. Well, Nyst likes to personally train anyway, and it has made him more thickly robust and healthful than some of his more lithe counterparts. His elongated midsection is also deceptively strong because of this training, allowing himself to constrict around certain objects if he so chooses.
