A close up of the shelves where my DVD's are kept. Not many toys here -- the edge of the shelf doesn't really have room. There's only Inque visible.
The shelves themselves are interesting in their own right. They used to be for drugs in my old neighborhood pharmacy. When they place closed, they let me cart off a section of shelving.
The door leads to a small balcony.

The interesting thing is that its primarily in French, with an English option, rather than the other way around. Although the episodes were made by the Canadian company, Nelvana, it was marketed for a French audience first.
I've read that some French puristrs have complained that the voice actor for Tin Tin is a French Canadian, and his provincial twangs offend their refined ears. (As if the Belgian accent Tin Tin would probably have, if he were real, wouldn't also offend them.)

There *was* a live-action movie, made way back in the early 60's I think, maybe earlier. I recall being about 12 and coming across some odd movie on afternoon TV. I didn't know what was going on, having come across it in the middle, but the weird young guy with a funny spike-like forelock, and the skipper, stuck in my memory. I only found a still from the movie again this year.
I heard Steven Spielberg was making a cgi Tin Tin feature. Could that be the "live action" movie you heard about?
Your French teach can allez a perdition! (Pardon my French -- I know its bad.) But I prefer movies I can understand, to abstract purity.

I'm not sure if it's that one. We had to do presentations about something we found interesting and some guy did one on the movie. It had a picture of the actor doing Tin Tin in it, but it may have just been that was the character voice, since we all looked at it and were like, "He doesn't look a THING like Tin Tin"
And trust me my french teacher would if she could. lol. But I only like watching movies/cartoons/etc in different languages if the voice actors are good. If they aren't it just kind of is hard to watch for me.
