This picture is very enjoyable for a bunch of reasons.

Your choice of colors for the morning light shading and outlining is great, everything from the crest of the landscape to the white on his face from dawn.

Additionally, the inking density on the tree shows that you have a good grasp on the concept of this piece and that it wasn't just flopped out without a thought.
