with tomorrow being the day of the Pokemon Sun & Moon demo i've decided to do a retrospective on all of the Handheld systems i've got in my possession of which i've play a Pokemon Game on each
Indigo GameBoy Advanced: this is the earliest system i've played Generation 3 of Pokemon on i did have a Gameboy Color as well as Pokemon Crystal but i lost both one day and haven't found them since but regardless i have played on this Gameboy Advanced for most of my life with games like Warioland 4 and other random games i've picked up for it and since i was getting soft for Pokemon one day i got Pokemon Ruby and sespite being a noob on this game i had a blast with the game and got more during the third generation like Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen and Emerald i still have all the games to this day even two copies of Sapphire cause i lost the first one but then found it again but regardless this system was my introduction to Pokemon and it's showing a bit of age unfortunetly the tab to keep the battery compartment closed has fallen off so the only thing to keep the system closed is this special expansion thing i got once which makes it kinda look like a Gamecube controller and i never put batteries into it again because of a system i'll be talking about in a little bit but this is ths system that gave me a good insight on Pokemon and one that started me off on it
Red DS Lite: i had gotten this DS i think some time before or after Pokemon Diamond & Pearl were out and it was quite a good thing to start on i started on Pokemon Diamond in 2007 and have been playing with it ever since so it's about almost 10 years old but like my GameBoy it's starting to show some age but this is worse than the Gameboy first off i lost the stylus pen one day so i was without a pen for this system, a part of the system chipped off the screen flipper so now it freely opens & closes and now the top screen is completely glitchy whenever i start it up it's a total mess colors & static is all around while the bottom screen is still very good i do still use this but only for the GameBoy slot in fact this is the only thing i can functionally use to play my GameBoy games on but it's still a good hearted system in a way
Black DSi XL: i was kinda excited when i first got this DSi XL back in February 3rd 2011 it was a pretty fun little system and it gave me a lot of time to use before getting Pokemon Black which came out next month and this system is a lot of fun my old pictures are still there from when i first got the system to when i took pictures of Shiny Pokemon until the internet functionality shut down i still use this system mstly for Pokemon Games from Generations 4 & 5 since they were still the games to use Pokemon on but unlike the others aside from some gunk making the pen stuck in the hole sometimes this system still works great the only downloaded thing i have is just this Legend of Zeldra Four Swords game which i also have on my 3DS which is now up next
Red 3DS XL: it was around December 2012 and it was some time after my grandfather's funeral we went to pick up my grandfather's old vintage car from my aunt's place when my cousin asked me what i had in my game bag i told him i had a DSi XL so he went off then showed me a 3DS XL he told me he won it from a raffle at his school but he didn't want it so he offered it to me to have so i accepted and now it's a part of my handheld family it took me a while to get used to it but after some time it's become a great system and it got better when Pokemon X & Y were announced i still use this system to this day but like the other systems it's got a few aging troubles it's got scratches on the bottom, the pen often sticks in the hole and now the circle pad is broken makes me wonder will i get a new system sometime in the future? time will tell
and that's my retrospective thank you for reading
