Many years ago a prophecy among the Deathshadow clan of ninja, a group of super secret ninja assassins hidden near Mt. Coronet, foretold of a great warrior who would come among them to defeat a great evil. For generations the prophecy was venerated. Sometimes someone would rise up claiming to be the chosen one, but their claims would always be quickly silenced. Fifteen years ago Arceus himself visited the clan in the guise of a humble trainer, and very quickly the greatest female ninja of the clan fell in love with him, having his son not long afterward. The boy, Kenshin Kagero Satoshi Tetsuo Akuma Yasha, was judged by the clan elders to have the greatest potential of anyone they had ever seen, and he began training to be a ninja almost immediately.

When Kenshin was three years old a group of shadow ninjas attacked his village in the middle of the night and immediately began to kill everyone they saw. The ninjas of the village fought bravely but were no match for the shadow ninjas. Finally their leader came for the young riolu but they were too late, for he had been trained too much and was already too powerful for them. Kenshin was able to defeat them all, but had to channel so much aura power to do so that it rendered him blind from the sight of such awesomeness. This only made him stronger though, because his aura vision was so powerful that he was now able to see the future and read minds just by looking at someone's aura, which made it almost impossible for anyone to strike him in battle.

Standing over the bodies of the slain villagers, Kenshin vowed revenge upon whomever had sent the shadow ninjas to kill him. He fled into the wilderness to train alone for many years and afterward infiltrated the criminal underground in order to find out who had sent the ninjas. When he was eight years old he defeated the leader of the criminal underground in battle after entering a deathmatch tournament and forced him to reveal what he knew in exchange for sparing his life. The underworld leader told him that the ninjas were sent by an agent of Giratina in order to kill the chosen one, and upon learning that he was apparently the chosen one, Kenshin became so happy that he evolved into a lucario, which made him even more powerful and awesome. He forced the criminal leader to promise never to do evil again and then began his search for the evil Giratina, taking on the name Deathshadow because it sounded cool and ninja-like and also to honor his clan although that wasn't nearly as important.

Deathshadow returned to training in the wilderness, feeling that he would have to be even more awesome in order to defeat Giratina, and during this time was visited by Arceus, who told Deathshadow that he was his son and it was his destiny to destroy all evil. Not willing to leave the arrival of the chosen one to chance, Arceus himself took a hand in his creation, and now he would take a hand in making him the most powerful pokemon ever. In order to help him Arceus spent years training him then melted down his Steel Plate and fused it with Deathshadow's steel bones in order to make him nearly invulnerable. After imbuing Deathshadow with a portion of his own power to make him even more powerful, Arceus directed him to find Giratina in the reverse world.

Deathshadow did some really awesome stuff in order to get there, and once there, confronted Giratina and demanded a battle. Giratina laughed but obliged him, only to the lucario's surprise it was no mere Giratina, but a shadow Giratina, who was amazingly able to defeat Deathshadow. During the battle shadow Giratina bit Deathshadow's right arm off, but he was badly hurt himself. Giratina captured Deathshadow and used his power to turn him into a shadow pokemon. Giratina brainwashed Deathshadow and sent him back into the real world in order to slay Arceus, his hated enemy. Deathshadow defeated everyone he met and killed a lot of people who weren't important until he encountered Arceus, but when he was about to fight him, suddenly rejected Giratina and decided he didn't want to be a shadow pokemon anymore because his willpower was even greater than that of Giratina and Arceus combined. Deathshadow purified himself and fulfilled the prophecy by defeating a great evil - himself. As a reward for his virtue and awesomeness Arceus melted down his Fighting Plate and used it to craft a cyber arm for Deathshadow that made him the greatest fighter in the world and also taught him how to create an Aura Blade that he could use as a weapon because it's really cool and not a lightsaber because Jedis are weak compared to him.

Deathshadow entered the grand tournament when he was thirteen and easily won but then decided that his mission wasn't complete, it was his fate to destroy all evil. Therefore he decided to enter the Poke-Combat Academy so that he could receive even better training to prepare him. He lives in the dorms and pays his tuition by training ninja assassins and fighting in the kumate on the weekends. He formed Team Death's Eternally Radiant Presence but because he was so powerful the school wouldn't let him have any teammates because it would be unfair. Deathshadow fights whole teams by himself and has never lost, and even fights whole senior teams by himself even though he's a freshman and easily defeats them all. He also challenges the faculty to fights, including the principal, and beats them too, because he is a ninja. He wears whatever he wants and acts however he wants because he's so powerful everyone in the school is afraid of him, including the school board. He is also the best musician, acrobat, baker, cobbler, pokeball player, genius, philosopher, lover, inventor, haberdasher, and everything else in the school world. And also he has a crush on Tenebra.
