Meet Rebecca Hanson. Daughter of Joe Hanson, whom some of you may remember reading about in the Flames of Instinct series. Rebecca, like many of her peers, was raised only by her mother, but grew up to be a fairly intelligent woman. One of the most striking features about Rebecca is that despite being a Dracomen, she has a condition with her eyes that makes it difficult for her to focus normally. To correct this, she wears special prescription glasses that her mother had to fight the AGR PX and doctors to obtain. As a child, the glasses she wore were often mocked, but she'd never let it discourage her. She graduated with top marks in school, and would begin collage soon after.

During her time in collage, she worked part-time for a local book store while she studied Computer Science, which she would ultimately earn a Masters Degree in. However, late in summer break of her first year, she would meet the man that she would eventually marry, Kyle Kerrigan. They met while Kyle was out on a run some time after he finished his Marine Basic Training, and would marry towards the end of his first tour of duty. After she announced to Kyle that she was pregnant with their first child, Kyle chose to remain in the Marines, and would end up fighting in the China-Pacific War, where he would earn a Medal of Honor for singlehandedly preventing a nuclear missile launch against the Pacific Coalition Fleet.

After Kyles promotion to Gunnery Sergeant, the two would live on base in Camp Pendleton, where they would raise their (eventual) three children.

How long has it been since I've drawn this character? Over five years? I think the time has come to rectify that. Yes, I know I should be working on commissions, and I will be, I just needed to get this image out of my head. Originally, it was planned to be a pic of Staria in this pose while on a surf board, but something made me draw Rebecca instead. This image took a bit longer than I intended it to, and with the events of last week, I was just unable to finish it before I had to head off to work. So, after this, It's back to commission work. I hope you guys like how this came out.

The image itself is set when Kyle and Rebecca first met, which to quote Jessica on that (spoiler alert): "Knowing you that means he got an eyeful." I think she has a point, given how... gifted... Bec is.

For those wondering why her wings are the way they are, this is how Dracomen cool down normally. They basically extend their wings and waft them while laying down. They can basically act as natural radiators in this way.
