The first Earthworm Jim game felt like something from the animated MTV show, Liquid Television. The visual design and the background music felt dark and edgy in contrast to the more or less light-hearted cartoon double-takes inferred. The franchise could have been kept that way but unfortunately it leaned towards the more kid-friendly and nonsensical impression we'd see in the game sequel and the Kids WB cartoon. It could have been something as fucked up like "The Brother's Grunt".

Bottom line: E.J. is cool in the dark, as it was, as it should be.

I have been itching to draw EW Jim for a while myself never got around to doing it.

It would be great to see your take on this character. :)

Ahh a part of my childhood right there! I played the games on Super Nintendo back in the day, watched the TV-show. Great times!
