Reminds me of a conversation I had back when I was in the army (I was a technical translator for the IDF) about having someone you’re destined to be with. My friend who served with me said it was kinda self-contradictory of me to believe in the concept as an atheist, so when I thought about it a bit more I refined the idea and talked about it in terms of an optimal match for a person that is statistically supposed to exist.
