I loved this depiction of Junior Ranger Scout Me so much that I asked 
paroapockinroo if she'd redraw young Dondi Whitetail just by himself. Well, she not only sized him up a bit, she added a few more details to his uniform, too. I am so happy with the result!

The only other Dondi I know is the old old WW-2 era comic
of the male counterpart to Little Orphan Annie:
a little boy with huge eyes who just wants a family.
It was serialized in the newspapers in the 70s.
I never cared for the soap-opera heart-rending problems that always arose,
but the book of his origins are tender and heart-warming.
