Some people wanted updates on my rat babies. Well, all the others are in their permanent homes except for my two keepers. :) So here's updates on the two I still have, anyway! On the left is Oogie Boogie. He's a Russian Dove Dumbo. Russian Dove is a very rare color that no one works with for one main reason. Chocolate is uncommon, and to produce it you need two sets of the chocolate gene and two sets of the russian blue gene. Also, people generally don't breed chocolate and russian blue together because it muddies up the russian blues produced, and adds "ticking" to the chocolates produced. Good thing I dont care and want the Russian DOVES. He's a very pretty kind of cremey pinkish blue, lighter than both russian blue and chocolate. Can't wait to start making more of them. :)

On the right is Shock, Oogies sister. She's a bit more brown than ideal for a russian blue, but that's because of the chocolate gene she carries, as I described earlier. She'll still be useful in producing Russian Dove, though.

Oogie is currently running around my desk, jumping onto my hands while I type and giving them loads of kisses before he takes off tearing around the rest of my desk and trying to eat everything that he shouldnt. :) I love him so much. Shock is just as crazy, but I can't let them play together, don't want an accidental breeding when they're this young! ;)
