It's a good month to draw some bats! I named this one Belle Frie :'B I had this character for a long time, but I don't often draw her because I never quite know how to do the wings. I tried here to figure out how to make bat wings work the way they ought while still freeing up a couple of fingers and thumb to act like a normal hand. This ain't quite it, but I think something along these lines might be what I had in mind.

Yeah that would work, but it's sort of cheating to just go and add extra bits like that :P Not that I ever do realistic animal anatomy anyway; I mean for this one here I'd have to had given her short little legs and attach her wings all the down to her toes. I love anthro bats, but damn if they aren't tricky to do well!

BTW, extra digits aren't cheating that much. Polydactyly is a reasonably common variant phenotype, and the original Tiktaalik had -eight-. Apparently the original vertebrate Bauplan doubled the bones at each joint. So you had upper leg, twin bones in the lower leg, four at the ankle, and eight toes...
