Black Phillip finished with clear red glass 'eyes' added and a custom plaque mount with chain accents. I also shortened his horse hair mane and shaped it for a ragged look. The horns have a 15 1/2 inch tip to tip spread. Yes, he has sculpted ears. (I was going for that 5 point star look when viewed from the front, hence the ears.)
This piece is inspired by the black goat in the movie 'The Witch' and also serves as tribute to all the famous demonic animals that have appeared in films and literature. Jodie the Pig, the Omen hounds, etc. If you haven't seen The Witch you should; it's a slow burn kind of horror that makes you think, and it doesn't employ special effects, gore or jump scares. It takes a long time to build up dread, but it pays off with one of the creepiest moments in film history.

If you have it on dvd try maxing the brightness on your screen for the 'remove thy shift' moment. You can see a finely dressed Spaniard-ish man in a goatee and long black hair behind Thomasin. >:) That's Phillip after he shifts out of his goat form.
I saw it in theaters originally and there was a good crowd. Everyone was whispering when the goat led Thom into the barn; when he spoke the audience went deathly silent save for a woman's gasp somewhere behind me. Not a peep from anyone through the credits after that. >=)
