Halloween is finally coming! So it´s time to do some special stuff to get ready for it! :D

Here's this year group pic! :P

Here´s the rules!

-YOU CAN CHOOSE ANY COSTUME YOU WANT
-The picture will be fully shaded!
-The prices will be different depending on the spots:
*Spot 1 is $80
*Spots 2 to 5 are $70
*Spot 6 is $55 (can't be diapered)
*And spot 7 is $20
- This will be done before Halloween is here!
-In order to do so this will be open until next monday at midnight, central time.
-Any species or gender is ok! (As long as it fits the pose)
-No messy/wet stuff
-Payment as always via paypal only! And in USD!
-Send me a note to claim a spot!

People pay that much for an artist's time, yes. Why is that so surprising to you?
Should artists work for free? Should they just give their talents and skills away?

Absolutely ridiculous when people post this stuff.

Not just ridiculous, it is insulting. Just because people can't afford something, doesn't mean they should complain about it on an artist page. It would be like me complaining that I can't buy an Audi on a dealership's yelp. LOL

They aren't asking for people to make free art, they're just saying that it's too expensive for them to afford. Don't assume that comments like these are meant to cause harm, and don't pick fun at them because they aren't able to buy the art from their favored artists...

Then they shouldn't say it. And it is insulting. Yeah, people might not be able to buy art, but no reason to "talk about the price" (which in reality is just a passive aggressive way to complain about the prices). I have heard of artist talk negatively about those kinds of comments.

Then you are probably not watching a lot of artists. If you look at all top-level comments. The majority is about the prices. Not about how cute the pic is.

Okay, so that was an assumption. Still doesn't change the fact that complaining, whether indirect or direct, is rude. And quite a few of us are sick and tired of seeing it a lot. A price is a price, talking about it isn't going to change it and it shouldn't even be a comment.

What is positive about people talking about how expensive art is, especially when it seems to be the main discussion rather than how cute a pic is? It is on the same level as complaining about commission prices.

Them, where did I say you were at fault. I said that you probably aren't watching enough artists to see a few PSAs or rants about stuff like this. Plus, none of our comments are top-level.

I still don't understand what you mean by "top level". Isn't the top comment just the first comment that is posted? And it certainly seemed like it, since you're yelling at me for defending someone when I didn't see what they did wrong

Top-level comment is a comment that is not a reply. Basically, it is at the "top of the tree" so to speak.

You mean that skill that someone hones for years in hopes of one day being able to be paid for, that not only takes time but also personal resources?

Why would anyone pay for that right?

Just because people have a romantic idea of the starving artist doesn't mean every artist doesn't want to starve.

One reason is when demands are too much against an artist's time to work.
Then they had to rise the prices... a lot than you can imagine.
Even so for artists who actually have real professional jobs other than commissions.
