So, okay, I've been playing less than a year and I'm self-tought (you can see the results of this on my page). How did you start out? Any lessons? Did you write your own stuff or do covers?

Maybe after another few years, I'll be worthy to jam with you :) But for now, I watch you.

Ahh, yes, I have heard your stuff! I like it, very melodic, -nodnod-. Less than a year? Can you give me an exact date as to when you began playing?

I started out self taught, then within about two months of my progression (when I turned four) I received lessons from my dad. I never took lessons from any other professional guitarist, and my dad was my sole mentor up until his death in November of '04.

How'd I start out? I divided time and spent 3 to 6 hours daily practicing. I didn't look at it as practice, moreless actually playing my instrument (which was, at the time, a $150 Dean ML.) When I was around 15, maybe 16, I joined a funky old garage band with other killer musicians, and we basically did covers. We would jam in the drummer's basement to stuff like "Crazy Train", or "You Got Another Thing Comin'" by Judas Priest. We hit the roots a lot, did shit from old school (1982-style Pantera to Rhandy Rhoads and Ozzy Osbourne) eras. Not to mention the drummer's dad had his own record label, so that sorta set the stage for me. I'm 19 now and I was recently signed to the same album label as Megadeth. I tour around the state, mostly.

Hehe, "Worthy"? From what I've listened to, I'd be HUMBLED to play with you.

Lessee, an exact date...well, my brother got a guitar last Christmas, and I started to play around with it a few days later. So, let's say Dec. 28th. I saved up and got my own guitar around the beginning of February, and I've been playing it ever since.

So do you mainly do covers now?

About that last part - it makes me feel elated, but I don't understand why you'd be humbled. You have insane skills :P
