I love the looseness in these sketches and the way the forms just flow along in an organic way. The mass gesture type stuff on the lower left guy with the thick legs and pointy thing on his head is inspiration. *Gets an urge to pick up a ball point pen and have fun*

Hey, pens are great educators! The marks you make are *down* once you've made 'em, so it can train you to trust your own judgement. (I've found they can also cause you to become predictable, which is where the pencil forces its way back into my process.)

Oh so very true. Pencils are my definate fav with real media. I've been using opencanvas for quite a while for sketching...you can get some nice pencily effects with it too. You can expect more remarks from me later as well. :D

Pencils were (and remain) my first love also. I got into disposable pens ages ago, abandoned 'em to learn how to paint...kinda learned how to paint and then rediscovered pens. Now I'm waffling back to pencils, since my penwork's gettin' a mite stiff.

I suspect we'll be trading some remarks, and in the best sense of the phraise. ;)
