It was winter, when I decided to enter a 5K foot race as Tycho Aussie. It's the polar bear race, and it was just 19 degrees out which is the perfect temperature if you are going to run in a fursuit. We started the morning with registration and soem D.J. dance music - All the funds were going to charity. We started our run in a crowd, and about a mile into the race, some dad with a big grin and his little boy went jogging past me to take the lead. Later, a woman came up behind me and told me about what she heard the four year old tell his daddy: "All I want to do is beat the dog". I stepped it up, and kept on their heels for the rest of the race. Whenever the little boy slowed down, I would end up on his heels and then he'd be off running again. 38 minutes in, and 3.2 miles later, we crossed the line together with me nipping at his heels. I bought this photo from a pro photographer, had it printed as a poster and mailed it to his dad. Neat kid, with a TON of guts and perseverance!
