I just made this for fun. This isn't intended to be attacking any particular artist, I probably couldn't name everyone who does this. Real talk? It hurts my eyes. I can't go to 3d Movies or use the 3d on my DS for the same reason. I dunno what it is.

It's called chromatic aberration and it's been a popular effect to add to artwork to make it look... cool, I guess.

Hah. I hate this too. I get how the technique is supposed to work, but I really don't care for 3D effects. If you want to do 3D work, sculpt traditionally or digitally and set your stuff up for an Oculus Rift. It'll be in every home in the next 20 years anyway, and it doesn't require murdering my eyes to do it. x.x;; I appreciate your satire~

i know a few artist who started doing this where i had to stop following them because it hurt to look at :c makes me feel like im cross eyed.

People use chromatic aberration in pretty standard drawings just to make the art look cooler - I know several artists whose art is kinda subpar but they use this in every single drawing. I won't use any examples cuz that ain't my bag.

See, I'd be cool with it if you could actually put on 3d glasses and see the art in '3d'... Cause then it's at least neat. (and difficult to get the 3d effect right)

honestly though this is so accurate to how a lot of popular artists operate

it reminds me of when a lot of pixel artists would use a 1px white outline around their pixels, and any artist using that outline got better reception than those not using it. thank god thats over

Oh my god thank you for addressing this.
Unless your art is meant to look 'glitchy' there's seriously no reason to do this, specially artists that use it all the god damn time christ stop.
