Little Audrey has always been one of my all time favourite cartoon characters. I've always loved how much of a mischievous sweetheart she was and thought maybe I should take a shot at her. Plus I've been starting to grow more fond of Bill Tytla's work and I always felt that I had sort of a similar art style to his.
A little background:
Little Audrey was originally created by Famous Studios, the animation division of Paramount Pictures in 1946 as a replacement for Little Lulu after losing the film rights to that character. She has very similar traits to Lulu, except she wasn't as much of a pest or as sophisticated as Lulu was. In fact, she was more of a charmer than anything. She was pretty much the Alvin Seville of her day. Along with the other Famous Studios characters including most famously, Casper the Friendly Ghost, Little Audrey was sold to Harvey Comics in 1959 which eventually was bought out by ClassicMedia, which itself was later absorbed into DreamWorks Animation.
