Entering the Great Corridor from the lobby, you see immediately the ages have not been kind to this part of the mansion.
The corridor is vast and ruined, moth-eaten paintings hang crooked on peeling walls. Candles still float above, casting light on the desolate hall. Holes punctured parts of the roof, with stones from the crumpling roof sinking into the floor. The ceiling damage led to sagging floors, and the scent of mold in corners of the halls. Corridor leads through the center of the mansion, leading to many doors. Most are broken or barred, impossible to enter.
You wonder how something this large ever was left to decay so badly. Centuries of neglect have taken their toll, along with the spirits that seem to haunt the mansion, ever out of sight. The hallway seems to approve ahead, the worst of the neglect is behind you. The floor appears straighter and the walls sturdier, as you arrive in another junction.
You take the first working door into a small common room. Inside, beside broken doors and shattered furniture, you find a simple wooden door, with a warm glow emanating from behind. You are enticed, and open it.
Pushing open the door, the warm glow retreats back into the room, and paper rustles beneath the door. The room is opulently furnished, with a great window in the rear. It faces the full moon, and carries the silver moonlight into the study. Piles of books are stacked throughout the room, while parchment and vellum sheets seem to coat the floor.
What you first thought was a carpet, was actually even more paper scrap coating the floors. Inspecting the sheets, all seem to show the same words, or rather jagged red marks written on many of them. Near the window a stately desk, stands comparably empty – save for a single piece of parchment and a fountain pen. Examining closer, you can see the curled paper sits unfurled on the desk, whilst the quill pen is actually hovering above it. Compelled by forces beyond your ken, your hands have taken the pen, and are moving, signing your name on in that same deep crimson.
It was then you realized it was not ink at all, but blood – yours. A fire burns inside, turning your skin red, Horns and claws burst through your skin and a cruel tail whips out from behind you. Sinister thoughts cloud your mind, as you have become the DEVIL
**Disclaimer: Not “THE DEVIL”/Satan, but a devil. I left “the” in to keep with the convention of the rest of the rooms.**
This is one is a reference obviously signing a demonic contract/making a deal with the devil. The creature design comes from Innistrad’s devils as well as a good bit of Diablo mixed in! I’m pretty sure Lostcat’s going to spread his mischief on a far more catastrophic scale now.
