The Alphabet of Very Obscure Mammals
My latest needlessly elaborate art project. Combination of digital and real media, plus a ton of research. As with the previous Obscure Birds Alphabet (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5348393/) I'm offering a free feral mammal pic for first three people can name all or most of these. I'll probably make a larger version available on Dropbox later.
Edit. Here's a bigger version on Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2r0m2k056.....haBig.jpg?dl=0

i was happily counting them up because i wasn't sure about their english names, that makes it double as hard (and fun!) to me XD
so, a linsang with A should be african linsang.
beaked whale with B and teeth like that, blainville's beaked whale.
M must be marbled cat (instead of clouded leopard)
G for gold ass shrew becomes golden-rumped elephant shrew
C could be a culpeo??
the jerboa could be five or four-tailed, but by the huge ears i'd guess Four-toed jerboa
P is probably a shrew, but can't tell you one that starts with P
Tibetan antelope

OK OK OK....
I know this is old & done with, but I just now found it through the pic you drew of a Fork-marked dwarf lemur!!
I LOVE these species guessing-games, so I gotta give it a try!!
MY GUESSES ARE:
Asiatic Linsang
Blainville's Beaked Whale
Cape Fox
Dall Sheep
Emperor Tamarin
Four-toed Jerboa
Golden-rumped Elephant Shrew
Honduran White Bat
Irrawady Dolphin
Jentink's Duiker
Kouprey
Leadbeater's Possum
Marbled cat (Since it lacks the small rosettes of a margay!)
Norway Lemming
Olingo (The four olingo species are virtually indistinguishable, but... it lacks the ear fur of an olinguito, so I'm just going with a normal olingo, haha!)
Piebald Shrew
Quokka
Red Ruffed Lemur (Which is NOT obscure in the slightest, hahaha!! They're one of the 3 most popular lemurs, AND among the most famous of all primates!! If you want "incredibly obscure", try a Red-Tailed sportive lemur-- but, even a red-bellied lemur or red-fronted brown lemur would have at LEAST fit within the "obscure" category!)
Silky Anteater
Tibetan Antelope
Upper Galile Mountains Blind Mole Rat (THIS ONE IS 100% OBSCURE-ENOUGH TO BE ON THIS LIST, THOUGH. HOLY COW, LMAO. I actually didn't know this one off-hand, other than recognizing it as some kind of Mole Rat, so I had to do some REALLY intensive searching to find it!!)
Volcano rabbit (Which threw me for a loop, because at first I thought it was a Vizcacha! Haha!!)
Weddell's Seal
Xoloitzcuintli
Yellow-throated Marten
Zenkerella? (HOPEFULLY?? Even though it's a genus name and not a species name! It's the only gliding "Z" I can think of!!)

*I* thought the red-ruffed lemur was obscure! But I was also trying to pick animals that would be interesting to draw too.
The U and X gave me the most trouble. That was actually supposed to be the Ukrainian blind mole-rat, but I later found out it's more often called the Sandy mole-rat, but honestly all the blind mole-rats pretty much look alike, so the Upper Galilie Mountains Blind-mole rat works just as well. The only other U animals I could find were the Unita ground squirrel, the unadorned wallaby and the Utah prairie dog, all of which sounded really boring to draw.
Zenker's flying squirrel.
I have a couple of bird species pictures further back in my gallery if you want to try your bird know-how.
