#28: Cubone

Man, if there was any non-Ghost/Dark-type that deserved a place on this countdown, it's Cubone! Talk about a fucked up origin, honestly if we're rating on dark Pokedex entries, I think Cubone wins! That being said it probably should've ranked higher but ehhh, it's not a Ghost or Dark type and that's generally what I'm going for more so, though really this thing should have been part Ghost from the get go what with that Pokedex entry and all the shit in Lavender town - and hey! It's finally going to be now thanks to Alola! Woo-hoo! Way to join the ranks of the undead, Cubone/Marowak! Honestly I'm pretty stoked for that as I've always wanted to include Marowak into my Ghost team (little bit of info, I'm a big Ghost-type user! Shocking isn't it?) and now I finally can! For all the shitty new stuff they've been putting into Sun & Moon, the Alolan versions have definitely been a step in the right direction in my opinion

But I digress, Cubone was the first non-Ghost/Dark-type addition I decided upon for this countdown and literally the reason why I made it not strictly that! There's just far too many dark things in Pokemon not related to those types. I mean... IT WEARS IT'S MOTHER'S SKULL! ...granted this is one of those many entries that does beg the question of how there's more then one of this Pokemon... like, do ALL Cubone just have dead mothers? Does their species just die after giving birth? If so, why has mine stayed alive after breeding and why does the new Cubone already have a skull? Did it happen to one Cubone and it just caught on as a fad? Or is this just another case where the Pokedex is full of shit? ...probably the latter. In anyway, rest in peace, sweet Marowak
