some really good ones in this entry, a lot more of these drive me nuts than the first list.

Is this stuff even taught in school anymore? Sometimes I wonder :P I don't remember if it was taught to me in school, but I know I don't usually have a problem using the correct words for the situation. I'm not perfect though, American English is bass ackwards.

Part of it may have to be that I was (and still am, if you let me get away with it) nerdy enough to read the dictionary (sometimes the thesaurus, too). I don't know, word meaning and context just seems to come easily to me, so I cannot remember if some of this was specifically taught in my classes, but I assume it was since I went to some pretty good public schools (some may not be so lucky).

I wasn't one of the kids in class stumbling over nearly every other word when reading out of a book. I usually jumped several pages ahead and had to keep my finger on the place where everyone else was so when it came time to read I could find it.
