Whilst working on a rather long story (Current length 17317 words) I explained the hunting strategy of a new species which lives in a lense of fluid which is breaathable to them. Outside this lense is near instant death. This species takes advantage of that. I drew a image that should hopefully make it more clear, or at least have give you a chance to compare your art favourably to my own.

Here's the relavant bit of the story

The explorers came across a group of beings gathered at the edge of organ. This creatures looked lie waterboatmen but with 12 limbs. Four big ones for swimming, four sharp ones for attacking and four smaller complex and delicate ones for tool use. They also had a one curled up whip at their rear. The hunting strategy they evolved with was to swim around membrane of the surface tension between the band they could like in and the next. Their limbs, mouth parts, whip etc. were camouflaged to disappear again the deadly space below. They would then look like fish like beings swimming in they middle of their zone. They would lure things to try and attack them. One of their pack would use their whip to lasso them out of the way. The so called predator would then charge into the dead zone. There it would be at the very least greatly weakened and likely dead. Others in the pack would then use their whips to to pull it back to the safe zone.
