More cat than fish it seems

some stuff about them:
They generally have pretty weak legs
just enough to move around on land and do basic things Meaning they are not very fast runners [Unless one were based off a cheetah or something, but even then they are not all too fast]
To make up for that they are vERY proficient swimmers
They can vary greatly in size, from a small housecat to a large wildcat.
Typically the underbelly has no scales and consists of only one color [most commonly white]
the scales can cover any part of the body tho and can be any colour
They have specialized gills on their necks that form a large water bubble around their heads as soon as they step out of water.


These are an open species so you are free to make your own
as long as you credit me the first time you draw one.
