.:Vent:. Until Next Time
"You will always make me proud."
As you may be aware, my father passed away at the age of 67.
A man who was known by many by the name of "Peaches". He was a dare devil, a child at heart, and a loving father. He was so many things, from a construction worker, milk man, truck driver, motorcycle badass, sky diver, airplane pilot, explosive/nuclear waste hauler, insurance seller and ultimately the best father I could've ever asked for.
He never thought he'd live to be his age, let alone have two children and have been married twice. Growing up he was the smart kid, straight A student that partied hard and did it all, you name it, he did it. He liked to take risks, race, anything to get him in trouble but he always did it with a smile on his face. Through the years, his body became beaten up and used to his full extent.
He had a number of head injuries, one led to him forgetting who he was, how to eat, and his life. Doctors told him he would never recover yet he did, however he lost his first marriage in the process. Thankfully, he remarried to my mother and had two kids. Because of all his injuries and stunts throughout the years, he became disabled and lost alot of his capabilities that he once could do. He had trouble remembering, walking, and had many other health issues.
But it never mattered to his family. We saw him as if nothing was ever wrong with him and we stood by him. Every time I'd call him, he'd always tell me how much he loved me and how proud he was of me. Every drawing I ever made, he'd look at it and say it belonged in a museum. Every food was the best food he had ever eaten. He told me so many stories of his life, so many that I couldn't tell you how many.
He may be gone. But I love him so much. And so many others do too. I know you told me to not be sad, to smile and laugh, that your funeral and death isn't of mourning but of happiness. You were the greatest father. I love you so much. I'm so proud of you.
I'll miss you, my peach, my dad.
I love you
